The main goal of future is to stop violence; the world is addicted to it. One form of violence is domestic violence; domestic violence is a great dilemma of many societies, western as well as eastern. Generally it is considered that only uncivilized nations are facing this problem, women of many civilized nations including USA, UK and many European countries are also victims of this social sin. It is estimated that 1out of three women suffer from domestic violence once in their life time.

If we look back at history, we will come to know that through dark ages women were treated brutally, the rights of women were snubbed and they were not even given even the basic rights, but if we compare past with present societies, present societies are much better and women of today is well aware about its rights, It is due to the reason that women are now becoming more educated. Media, multinationals, agencies, NGO, national and international platforms have contributed a lot in protecting women and educating women about their rights.

Role of AVON can not be neglected in terms of improvement of women. AVON, the company for women came into existence in 1886 since then apart from enhancing the outer beauty of women; it has also use its energy and resources in protecting the rights of women and did a lot for women improvement directly and indirectly by funding NGO and agencies on national and international level. On 25th January 2011, AVON announced “AVON Believe World Tour” in Atlanta at 125th anniversary celebration.

The purpose of “AVON Believe World Tour” is to visit 16 cities i.e., Atlanta, Dallas, Los Angeles, London, Istanbul, New York, Chicago, Mexico City, Warsaw, Moscow, Sao Paulo, Buenos Aires, Manila, Shanghai, New Delhi and Johannesburg, 125000 Avon representatives will participate in it and will help AVON in its mission to end violence against women. This world tour was announced by AVON’s brand Ambassador Reese Witherspoon and CEO Andrea Jung. It is a protest campaign against domestic women that will observe the issues of domestic violence against women in these selected cities and will try to eradicate with the help of local governments and NGO.

It is due to efforts of multinationals, governments and NGO that domestic violence against women is now regarded as important social issue that must be tackle tactfully. Role of AVON is very appreciable in protecting women from violence and giving them their rights that they deserve and to draw world’s attention towards this issue.
